About the international Biowiki contest
From Biowiki
About the OpenFree Biowiki contest:The first Biowiki contest was held in Korea in the early 2007. It was successful.
As an expansion of the first national level biowiki contest, the first international level was held from May 2007. It finishes in June 2007.
To extend its users and participants, we hold the 2nd international "Biowiki contest" from July 2007. An announcement will be done in Austria where the ISMB is being held.
The format of contest:
The contest has two major forms.
One is to use an internet domain such as http://bioasia.info that is served by the present competition organizer, KOBIC.
The second format is to use http://biowiki.net/.
Both competition formats require registration so that the organizer prepares bio internet domains and sub directory sites. If a participant wanted to make an openfree web site called "BioHeaven". He/she can choose to run the whole internet domain site http://biologyheaven.com, .net, or .org. In that case, the organizer will register and provide internet domains freely to the participant.
If the internet domain was already taken, the participant can have a subdirectory under http://biowiki.net/Bioheaven/.
Effectively, both approach will be the same in contents creation and the contents will be judged under the same criteria of easyness to use and add new bio-information and bio-knowledge.
Copyright of the contents produced: The philosophy of this openfree Biowiki contest is to share bioinformation and knowledge as openly and freely as possible for every information processing object in the universe. Therefore, all the contents will be CopyLefted. They will be under BioLicense scheme. BioLicense allows anyone to take the contents for any purpose including profit making. Essentially, it is totally free.
